Dr. Jeffrey Smith is a board certified, fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon in San Diego, California. Dr. Smith specializes in the treatment of injuries to our bones. While utilizing his expert training, experience, and the latest technology, Dr. Smith also collaborates with other specialists at Palomar Health Orthopedic & Spine Center to achieve optimal results for each patient.
Dr. Smith’s mission is to provide high-quality, individual-focused care to trauma patients with compassion and state-of-the-art technology from the time of injury to the point of maximum post-injury function.
Orthopedic injuries with subsequent short-term and/or long-term disability can have a dramatic life impact and he tends to every patient to assist them in achieving optimal recovery. His goal is to use all available resources to return each patient to their pre-injury function. Through the optimal care of fractures, including those of the joints, he hopes to lower the risk or lessen the symptoms of future arthritis, i.e. prevention. He believes in a multidisciplinary approach, utilizing expert resources in areas of orthotics/prosthetics, physical/occupational therapy, subspecialist physicians and nutrition. A special emphasis is placed on education and patient participation in the recovery phase to empower each individual to achieve the best outcome possible.
